Heritage Homes Tour Each year HSA utilizes the support of up to 200 volunteers to work this event, helping to educate our community on the importance of historic homes and neighborhoods in Austin. To mark the celebration of its 40th birthday in 1993, HSA debuted the Heritage Homes Tour. Presented annually, these tours showcase the rich heritage of our community through its varied historic architecture. 200 0 - Living it up Downtown - Preservations New Frontier 2001 -South Austins Fairview Park: Where Heritage is Hip 2002 - Guadalupe/Robertson Hill neighborhood 2003 - Pemberton Heights 2004 - Old Enfield 2005 - Travis Heights 2006 - Heritage Neighborhood 2007 - Duval Street in the 1920s 2008 - Atomic Austin: Mid-Century Modern 2009 - Jewels of Castle Hill The 2010 Homes Tour "Livin' in River City" will be held on May 22. Sign up as a Homes Tour volunteer by downloading and returning this PDF. You will be contacted two weeks before the tour to confirm our shift and details of volunteering. Committees The Heritage Society works its mission through various committees made up of board members and staff members. Volunteers are encouraged to participate in these committees to help HSA achieve its mission. The committees this year are: Education, the Heritage Homes Tour, Historic Preservation, and Membership. Other Opportunities Office Aides Office support is always needed. Help with filing, archiving, data entry, preservation research, and mailings. Community Outreach help staff HSA member/tour/advocacy tables at HSA or other events. |
